Zurayda’s specialises in commercial matters. Her experience includes the drafting and negotiation of commercial documents, advisory work on matters relating to mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, due diligence investigations, drafting shareholders agreements, sale of shares, memoranda of incorporation subscription agreements, board and shareholder resolutions and drafting of legal opinions and the identification of legal risks both in South Africa and Lesotho.
Zurayda Mayet, grew up in the city of Maputsoe in Lesotho. She is an avid writer, initially obtained a BA degree majoring in Media Studies and Journalism before working as a teacher in underprivileged school. However, her passion for social justice and women empowerment compelled her to go on to complete an LLB degree at Wits University in South Africa. in 2018 Zurayda joined Webber Newdigate Attorneys in Lesotho and its sister firm Webbers Attorneys in Bloemfontein.
In 2020, Zurayda established Mayet & Associates and has acted on behalf of a wide range of clients that include multi-national corporations, government institutions, non-governmental organisations, private individuals, listed and unlisted companies.
