Lesotho has issued the Labour Act Wages (Minimum Wages) Notice, 2025 (Legal Notice No. 62 of 2025), made under section 21(2) of the Labour Act, 2024. The Notice took effect on publication in the Government Gazette (28 March 2025) and repeals the 2024 minimum wages notice.
Who is covered?
The Notice sets sector-specific wage floors and clarifies several sector definitions (e.g., clothing/textiles, construction, retail/wholesale, hospitality, security, transport, small business, domestic work, general minimum wage). Employers must ensure correct sector classification, as rates vary materially.
