Managing Director

Zurayda Mayet grew up in Maputsoe, a city in Lesotho. Her journey reflects a blend of academic achievement, social advocacy, and professional excellence.

She began her career with a BA degree in Media Studies and Journalism, paired with experience as a teacher in underprivileged schools. This teaching role and her passion for social justice and women’s empowerment drove her to pursue an LLB degree at Wits University in South Africa.

Her legal career began in 2018 with Webber Newdigate Attorneys in Lesotho and its sister firm Webbers Attorneys in Bloemfontein, South Africa. In 2020, Zurayda took a pivotal step by establishing her own legal practice, Mayet & Associates Attorneys. Since then, she has worked with clients across the globe, specializing in corporate commercial law and cross-border matters.

She actively contributes to prestigious legal publications, including Chambers & Partners and World Bank Business Ready Projects. Her insights and expertise in corporate commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, and cross-border matters in Lesotho have made her contributions instrumental in these comprehensive legal platforms.

Zurayda serves as the Managing Director and leads the Corporate Commercial Division at Mayet & Associates Attorneys in Lesotho. She specializes in a wide range of corporate commercial matters across various industries, leveraging expertise in:
